Grand Canyon Skywalk Hosts Nearly 250,000 Visitors In 2007
Inspiring New Tour Options for 2008

LAS VEGAS, NV (December 20, 2007) – Since the Grand Canyon Skywalk opened in March of 2007 it has had nearly a quarter million visitors take the 4000-foot high stroll over the Grand Canyon. On average there are 2000 visitors each day to Grand Canyon West, the majority of which walk on the Skywalk. Most of the visitors to Grand Canyon West are on daytrips from surrounding areas, particularly Las Vegas and Phoenix. These visitors originate from all over the U.S. as well as many from foreign countries, including Asia and Europe.

“It has been a historical year for the Hualapai tribe,” said Sheri Yellowhawk, CEO of Grand Canyon Resort Corporation. “The success of the Skywalk has made the Hualapai people one step closer to a future of independence without poverty and unemployment. We are optimistic that our destination’s growth will continue and look forward to what 2008 will bring.”

Starting January 1, 2008 Grand Canyon West will have new tour options available that allow for a custom experience. The base packages range from $29.95 for a day package to $129.95 for an overnight package. The Skywalk is available with any of the base packages and will cost $29.95. Prices are per person and are subject to tax. There are also new meal options as well as Helicopter, boat, Hummer and horseback rides available. Permitting and parking will be $20 per vehicle.
